I’ve been using Digikam as my photo manager for quite some time now, but I haven’t really been utilizing it fully. I’ve starting playing around with some new features (tags, advanced slideshow, the right-hand side-bar that I somehow never noticed existed before), and it’s led me to one big gripe: Why is the advanced slide show not implemented as a KDE screen saver? Tags are all well and good, but Digikam tags aren’t applicable to anything outside Digikam. Sure would be nice if I could set a screen saver to show all images with a certain tag without having to go through the huge effort to move (or copy, and waste disk space) those files to a particular folder. If you’re into KDE, please go register with the KDE Bug Tracking System (pain-free registration just needs an e-mail address and a name) and vote for this wish-list bug. You can apply up to 20 votes to it (out of 100 alloted per account). Let’s make this feature a reality for the next version of Digikam.
