Justice? What justice?

From the “can you fucking believe this?!?” department comes news that Paris is out of jail after serving 3 whole days of her sentence. She’s not completely free yet (house arrest with a monitoring bracelet), but damn near. I ask you, can she possibly get any more of the special treatment that they swore she wouldn’t receive?

Medical considerations “played a part” in the decision

Rumor has it, the medical condition (which authorities are not permitted to discuss, for privacy issues) is Paris’ unwillingness to eat jail food. Part of the house arrest deal is that Paris must now serve the full 45 day sentence instead of the 23 day abbreviated sentence. However, she is credited with having served a full day on Sunday (despite reporting to jail just before midnight). I wish my boss was that lenient. I could show up just before quitting time and get a full day’s pay.

Well… the wealthy get all the breaks. It’s always been that way and it always will. In this case, I think it is good because it let’s all see how rotten the American justice system really is — it’s there for the whole world to see … in the Good Old USA if you have money you are treated different than if you do not.

    Basically, we suck.

Yeah. Problem is, letting the world see it doesn’t do much good. Half of them say, “See? It’s not just us!” while the other half say, “See? We told you capitalism was evil!”
