Nokia buys Trolltech, pledges to support KDE, GPL

Hot off Planet Ubuntu this morning is the news that Nokia is buying Trolltech to “accelerate” their software strategy. Sounds worrisome, but Trolltech and Nokia have already released an open letter explaining that Qt and Qtopia will continue to be released under the GPL, and Nokia wants to become a “Patron of KDE“. Sounds like fantastic news!
